Goal of Readers Theater:  To bring newer plays to Monroe audiences; and to allow local performers who have not been able to participate in Main Stage productions an opportunity to share their talents. 

 

Actors read from scripts; and no props, sets or costumes are used.No memorization, costumes, blocking or special lighting is needed.  Scripts are held by the readers, lines are not memorized. 

 

The focus is on reading the text with expressive voices and gestures – making comprehending the text meaningful and fun for all.  The audience simply laughs.
