Since 1948, Monroe Community Players have taken pride in their productions and in the friendships gained by working together for a common goal. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit all volunteer organization. We welcome new members! Different producers, directors, production staffs, committee chairs and production crews are created for each show. MCP is governed by a member-elected Board of Directors, which meets monthly. Our board of directors continues to plan for excellence in operations, fiscal management and programming.
People interested in performing do not have to join in order to audition, but those who are cast in our shows or work behind the scenes are required to join. Whether part of a full-scale musical, a slap-stick comedy, or a passionate drama – culture and the arts come alive as our members work on stage or behind the curtain. Monroe Community Players support arts education to foster the next generation of arts enthusiasts.
The purpose of Monroe Community Players is to stimulate interest and promote the theatrical arts; to provide a means for enhancement of member skills; to encourage high standards of theatrical productions and to provide education of theatrical arts to its members and the general public.
Live theater is an excellent outlet for creativity, inspiration, skill building and community building as well! Plan a date night with that special someone, grab the family for some culture or just enjoy a little piece of Broadway a bit closer to home! You can even join us and be a part of the production too!
Monroe Community Players contributes nearly $500,000 to our local economy each season. The formula provided by the Michigan Cultural Data Project includes actors, members, volunteer hours, audience tickets and evening out, production costs, etc. Help Monroe Community Players continue to bring theater to our community as we celebrate 67 years in Monroe.
